Carlyle Square , Chelsea

Carlyle Square was originally named Oakley Square (a Cadogan family name) when it was built in the 1830’s on what had formally been Market Gardens. It was renamed in honour of Thomas Carlyle, who actually didn’t live in the square but in Cheyne Row nearby, in 1872.
